The Taxi Scrapping Administrator has been appointed by the National Department of Transport (NDoT) to manage the process for scrapping Old Taxi Vehicles (OTVs) and payment of the scrapping incentive, as part of the Government’s Taxi Recapitalisation Project.

This website has been designed to help you understand and take part in the Taxi Scrapping Process. You can start by clicking on the “What do I have to do to scrap my taxi?” button on the left.

  • Over 28000 taxi’s have been scrapped so far (October 2009)
  • Over 18 000 old taxi vehicles have been scrapped.
  • More than 19 000 old taxi vehicles have been receved by the TSA

  • Gauteng province receives more than 6 600 application forms for scrapping
